Briefed by News Corp to create a next generation smartphone destination for exclusive Premier League football content globally, we’ve delivered a multilingual and multi-regional app that combines video, breaking news, live scores and editorial in one dynamic stream.
Initially launching to Japanese, Indonesian and Vietnamese football fans, the Android app is available for free download on Google Play, in time for the season start. Called BallBall, it is complemented by a website (ballball.com), with iOS and tablet versions in development.
The first digital product to be launched under the new News Corp corporate structure, the launch is “a significant moment in the e-evolution of the new News” according to Chief Executive of News Corp Robert Thomson’s recent press announcement:
It is all about the mobility of unique content and the upward mobility of Asia. As well as exclusive highlights, our company has unique access to great football writing, statistics, and the players, both on the field and in the industry, and we will bring Asian fans much closer to the action.
The product delivers a ‘best of breed’ service, bringing together a variety of exclusive English Premier League and European match video content, with a live stream of breaking news, scores, sharp editorial, commentary and analysis from News Corp's U.K. publications the Times, the Sunday Times and the Sun. All content will be available in Japanese, Bahasa Indonesian and Vietnamese.
